Equipment and Transport Hire Terms and Conditions:
In order to provide you with a professional top class service, we ask that you take a few minutes to read this important notice explaining how the breakage/security deposit works.
All equipment rented from Big Bash Events and/or its suppliers requires the payment of a refundable breakage/security deposit. This is a worldwide and common practice.
Equipment that is supplied to public venues, clubhouses or places other than that of your private residence, require that you inform us in writing and make prior arrangements as to whom the security deposit must handed back to. Big Bash Events takes no responsibility for the return of a security deposit that are handed over to the incorrect persons.
Big Bash Events does not release any equipment unless it has been thoroughly tested on our premises and is in good working order. It is the client’s responsibility to check the equipment and ensure that they are satisfied with the condition and clearly understand how to operate the equipment.
The security deposit is retained for the duration of the rental period or while the equipment is in the hirer’s possession/care.
On return/collection of the equipment, all the relevant parts, accessories and units supplied to you will be checked and inspected by a representative of Big Bash Events and/or any of its suppliers. Any damages, loss, breakages and/or misuse as well as the extent of damages or loss, will be noted and pointed out to you.
Should it be established that the equipment hired is in an acceptable condition, as when it was delivered, the breakage/security deposit will be returned to. Big Bash Events will ensure all deposits are returned within 7 days of the completion of the event.
If it has been established that the equipment has been damaged in any way whatsoever, the security deposit will not be returned at that point and will be retained. Once the equipment is returned/brought back to our offices, an inspection will take place to determine the nature and extent of the damages/losses.
Big Bash Events reserves the right to have a reasonable amount of time in order to establish the cost and extent of any damages and will endeavour to ensure a speedy resolution to finalizing a refund if such is required.
Please note that ALL repairs are NOT NEGOTIABLE and clients cannot repair any equipment themselves. Big Bash Events will have damaged equipment repaired by their own suppliers and personnel.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR ALL ISSUES PERTAINING TO SECURITY DEPOSITS AND THE EXTENT OF ANY DAMAGES WILL ONLY BE ADDRESSED AND DEALT WITH DURING WEEKDAY OFFICE HOURS AND NOT WEEKENDS.
NO EQUIPMENT WILL BE RELEASED OR LEFT ON-SITE WITHOUT THE PAYMENT OF A SECURITY DEPOSIT.
FULL PAYMENT OF THE RENTAL FEE DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PAYMENT OF THE SECURITY DEPOSIT BY ANY MEANS WHATSOEVER.
Big Bash Events and/or its suppliers reserve the right to cancel or shut down or remove any equipment or transport in the event of:
o Possession or use of narcotics;
o Fighting and/or aggression;
o Vandalism;
o Racism;
o Any behaviour deemed unfit by Big Bash Events and/or its suppliers;
o And more people/attendees than invoiced and paid for.
All equipment or transport hire bookings are bound by the payment terms, changes and cancellation terms, breakage/security deposit terms and liability as below.
Refunds will not be given under any circumstances for people who do not arrive.
Final numbers and packages must be confirmed and paid for 8 days prior to event date.
Bus Transport Terms and Conditions are as per the booking form supplied by Big Bash Events.
50% deposit is required to secure a booking.
Liability:
All rental and use of rented equipment is done entirely at own risk.
Upon rental of any equipment, you agree that you and your quests/ do so entirely at your own risk and that Big Bash Events and/or our staff and suppliers will not be liable for any loss, damage, theft or injury that might occur.
Big Bash Events reserves the right to cancel a booking forthwith and without liability on its part in the event of any damage to, or destruction of, our property by fire, water, shortage of labour, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of Big Bash Events, which shall prevent it from meeting its obligations. In these circumstances, every effort will be made to find a suitable alternative.
Changes or Cancellation of bookings:
Cancellation 0 – 30 days before function date - the full 50% deposit will be forfeited and not refunded, unless Big Bash Events is able to fill the booking.
Cancellation more 30 days before function date – 100% of amount paid will be paid back.
An administration/cancellation fee of 10% will apply to all cancelled reservations.
No Cancellations or refunds will be issued with 7 days of the event.
Any cancellations or changes of any booking or rental must be in writing.
Amendments/reductions in numbers within the final 8 days prior to the event will not be refunded.
The above Standard Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings unless specific and amended terms are provided for that particular venue, transport or activity chosen.
Payment terms:
Payment done via cheque, even if paid into our account, will have to be cleared first – Two weeks waiting time minimum.
Electronic Funds transfer from FNB– Immediately.
Electronic Funds transfer (Other) – 3 working days.
We do have card facilities therefore no credit card payments accepted.
All electronic payments, cheque payments and cash deposits will be cleared and must reflect in our account before any hired items or venues will be released.
50% deposit is required to secure a booking.
A refundable deposit is required with all bookings and rentals – NO exceptions.
Although a set amount for the breakage deposit is required, the client will be responsible for all costs of damage exceeding the breakage deposit. The breakage deposit will not be paid back if any damage has been done.
Venue Terms and Condition:
· 50% deposit is required to secure a booking.
· A breakage deposit is required for all bookings and will be refunded within 7 days following the event if there are no breakages. Any breakages will be charged for and will come out of your deposit.
· Final numbers and packages must be confirmed and paid for a week before the date you have booked.
· Refunds will not be given under any circumstances for people who do not arrive.
· Big Bash Events and/or its suppliers reserve the right to cancel or shut down any function in the event of:
o Possession or use of narcotics;
o Fighting and/or aggression;
o Vandalism;
o Racism;
o Any behaviour deemed unfit by Big Bash Events and/or its suppliers;
o And more people/attendees than invoiced and paid for.
· All venue bookings are bound by the payment terms, changes and cancellation terms, breakage/ security deposit terms and liability as above.
